Depending on how confident and fit a cyclist you are, there are a range of destinations that can be accessed by bike from Callerton Rise.
Your new home is surrounded by a range of local facilities and amenities, including St James Retail Park which can be reached in around 10 minutes and Kingston Retail Park which is just 15 minutes away by bike. A cycle ride to Newcastle centre is around 8km and takes around 25 minutes.
Many of the local roads to the north and west are rural in nature, and whilst the main routes towards the city can be busy, there are some great quieter scenic routes that can make a ride a little more leisurely.
The local area is also well served by cycle routes, with Stamfordham Road and North Walbottle Road all being classed as advisory cycle routes on the South Newcastle cycle map. In addition to some other traffic free routes in the local area running towards Westway Industrial Park and Walbottle.
The National Cycle Network can also be reached in around 15 minutes by bike from Callerton Rise, with route 72 and route 141 both running along the River Tyne and providing mainly traffic free routes to enjoy.
